St Philip’s RC Primary School approached Trigger to design and install a striking piece of external signage that would reflect the school’s identity and values, while also creating a standout feature at the main entrance. As a Catholic school, the brief centred around creating a cross symbol that would feel meaningful, visible and welcoming — both by day and night.
To meet the brief, our team designed a bespoke halo-illuminated cross, mounted using elegant brass stand-off fixings. The cross itself was constructed with a 3mm brushed aluminium face, paired with a 19mm black foamex backing to create depth and contrast. Integrated white LED strip lighting provided the halo illumination, giving the sign a cool glow at night and ensuring the school’s entrance is easy to identify after dark. The materials were carefully chosen for both durability and visual impact, while the installation was carried out with precision to ensure a sleek, high-quality finish. The illuminated design adds a modern yet respectful feature to the school’s entrance, reinforcing its identity in a meaningful and eye-catching way.
The final installation has transformed the school’s exterior, providing a distinctive focal point and a powerful visual statement. St Philip’s were extremely pleased with the finished result, and the success of the project has led to Trigger being commissioned for a follow-up internal signage project to continue enhancing the school’s environment.
